Killed in Action 27/10/1918 Age: 20. Thomas was flying a SE5a (pictured below) serial number C6464. He left the aerodrome on a central offensive patrol at 8-15am,he was in combat with a Fokker DV11. Thomas' aircraft broke up and crashed out of control.

Born 30th September 1909 in Wolverhampton, married Elsie M. Evans March 1934 in Wolverhampton. In 1939 they were living at 143 Alma Street, Wolverhampton, Thomas was employed as a brewer's labourer.
Thomas died as result of an accident 8th April 1941 in Gosport, Hampshire.

Clayton, Robert John (BOB) Sergeant(Air Gnr. U/T.) 1582770
19 Operational Training Unit, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.
Born March 1924 in Wolverhampton son of Robert and Harriett Elizabeth Clayton. In 1939 they were living at 55 Riches Street, Wolverhampton, along with Robert's older sisters Jessie and Iris.
Robert enlisted in Birmingham sometime after June 1941.
Robert died while flying 4th May 1944 aged 20. The Whitley bomber in which he was flying collided with Whitley Z9361 of 19 OTU and crashed at Cullin Sands West of Findhorn during a night training flight; Z9361 landed safely.

Son of John William and Mary (nee Mcdonald) born 19th August 1918, his parents were living at 14 Granville Street in 1939.
Stephen was married to Florence Irene Jenny Dickenson.
He was killed in action 16th July 1944 age 25.

Fairclough, William Private 4915440

Born 11th February 1923 in Birmingham son of William and Elsie Fairclough. In 1939 they were living at 22 Oakley Road, Wolverhampton; William was employed as a van boy.
Killed in action 16 July 1944 aged 21.
V. C. 16. Fontenay-le-pesnel War Cemetery, Tessel, France.
The 1/6th Bn. as part of the 177th Brigade 59th Division were tasked to capture Noyes a village ten miles south-west of Caen. Noyes was known to be strongly held within the ‘Bocarge’ country.
At 5.30 am on the 16 July 1944 the attack commenced in thick mist, by about 6.45 am the 1/6th Bn. had captured the village of Bretevillette 1 ½ miles north of Noyers and two hours later the village of Quedeville. By the end of the day there had been many casualties some from British minefields that had not been cleared before the attack. Both Stephen Dickinson and William Fairclough were killed in this action.

Born 21st August 1919 in Wolverhampton son of Clarence and Esther Anne Lawley; his father died in 1923.
In 1939 Joseph was living at 2 Prestwood Road, Wolverhampton with his widowed mother, older sister Rosina and younger sister Kathleen, he was employed as brewery drayman.
Joseph married Iris May Hodson October 1940 in Wolverhampton.
The 6th Battalion of the Cheshire Regiment were part of the 56th (London) Division during the Gothic Line offensive in Italy, during the autumn of 1944.
Joseph was wounded in action 19th September 1944 and died of his wounds 15th April 1945 aged 25.

Born 17th September 1919 in Wolverhampton son of John and Fanny Mary Newey. In 1939 they were living at 12 Tudor Crescent, Rookery Lane Wolverhampton along with Norman's older siblings Bertram and Phyllis. Norman was employed as an apprentice carpenter and joiner. Norman married Dorothy Wilkes March 1942 in Wolverhampton.
Killed in action 26th February 1945 aged 25.

Born 15 April 1917 in Wolverhampton, son of Frank and Alice Oakley (née Ellis).
Married Alice Maud Reid Harmon (born 26 Dec 1920 Wolverhampton) July 1941 in Wolverhampton.
Died 21st August 1941 age 24 when he crashed on a searchlight battery at Kirkhampton 5 miles west of Carlisle during an air test, flying a Magister I. A passenger, a civilian engineer was also killed, unfortunately there is no name recorded of the engineer.
