Newitt  Leonard Private , 73025 11th Battalion Notts & Derby (Sherwood Foresters). Son of Alfred and Emma of Whitmore Reans Wolverhampton. He enlisted into the South Staffordshire regiment in 1914 and was transferred to the Notts & Derby (Sherwood Foresters) in 1916. He was critically wounded in an attack by the battalion on the German 3rd Line 1st October 1916 just out side Le Sars on the Albert-Bapaume Road. Leonard died on the 3rd October 1916 from his wounds. He is buried in St Severe Cemetery, Rouen, France, Grave Ref: B17. 60
